excavation, the leakage detector for buried pipeline coatings can find out the
position, running direction, and depth of buried pipelines as well as the
accurate position and the size of damaged points on coatings in a convenient
and precise way.
Shengli SL-2818 is the smallest and lightest leakage detector for underground pipeline
coatings in China.

【Detection
Principle and Methodology】
Principles
of pipe location and direction and depth detection: the transmitter sends a
specified electrical signal to the underground pipeline, and determines its
position, running direction and depth by detection of its magnetic field.
Leakage detection
principle: An electrical signal is sent to the underground pipeline by the
transmitter. A loop between the damaged
point and the earth is formed and radiates to the ground, with the most
intensive radiation right over the damaged points. Based on that, the damaged
points on coatings are found.
Leakage
detection method: The coating leakage detector adopts “body capacitance method”,
i.e., with human body as the induction element, and conducts detection along the
pipeline. When the operator walks close to the leakage point, the leakage
detector begins to react. When he is right above the leakage point, the volume
in the loudspeaker is the highest and the displayed value is the largest. That’s
how we can find the leakage point accurately.
